HARRISBURG -- Fleet owners and operators have only a few weeks left to submit an application for $10 million in grants being awarded this year as part of the Department of Environmental Protection’s Natural Gas Vehicle program, which is funded by Act 13 of 2012.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has finalized a process to encourage the use of acid mine drainage for hydraulic fracturing, part of an effort to reduce the use of freshwater in extracting oil and gas from shale.

DEP missed more than 15,000 wells in impact fee count

Pennsylvania and its counties and municipalities may have missed out on as much as $303 million in gas well impact fees in 2012 because state regulators undercounted the number of wells covered by the law, according to an article published this month in the journal Environmental Practice.
