Special: 4 new injection wells for PA- hearings next week
Clearfield County Dec 10th-An EPA hearing for a Class 2D disposal injection well will be held  on Monday  Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. at Brady Township Community Center's building No. 2; 71 Community Center St., Luthersburg, PA 15848
Elk County Dec 11th-Injection well #38268 - Elk County, Highland Township, PA - Seneca Resources Corporation Dec.11. The EPA hearing  will be held at the fire hall in Highland Township, James City at 7 p.m.
Warren County Dec 12th Two injection wells EPA hearing, December 12, 2012 - 6:00 pm Columbus Township Fire Department,  44 North St. near Bear Lake in Warren County

West Trenton, NJ:  In response to a request for a hearing submitted on August 9 and a petition submitted on September 12 by the Delaware Riverkeeper Network and signed on to by 52 environmental, civic, community and faith organizations (list below) the Delaware River Basin Commission officially rejected the request that it exercise its existing authority over pipelines.

Community College Faculty and Staff: Cut Fracking Ties, Support Sustainability

Philadelphia – In a standing-room-only meeting Tuesday, the governing body of the Community College of Philadelphia’s faculty and staff union denounced the College’s ties to the Marcellus Shale Coalition. MSC is the primary fracking industry lobbying group in Pennsylvania.

Proposed injection well still topic of interest

The Elk County Board of Commissioners took another step in opposing the construction of an "injection well" by Seneca Resources along Lamont Road between state Route 66 and Highland Road near James City in Highland Township.
On Tuesday morning, the commissioners voted 3-0 to adopt a resolution opposing the possible injection well.

Walker: From my perspective, no. They are not competing. In fact, the natural gas industry has a shortage of skilled labor in Pennsylvania. There is a reason you are seeing license plates from Louisiana and Texas on those well pads. We just do not have the skilled labor yet to catch up to the jobs that are available, which is reason part of the vision of 20/20 is workforce education.

Fouled water strains Butler County residents

Janet McIntyre is sick of drinking water from plastic bottles.
She’s among a growing number of neighboring families in Butler County using donated bottled water, claiming their tap water sickened them, stinks and stains what it touches. Federal, state and industry testing ruled unfounded the neighbors’ claims that gas drilling polluted water wells.
